Essential Travel Checklist

Clothing and Layering
Layering is essential. Even in summer, temperatures at night can drop near freezing at 3,500 metres. Carry a warm fleece, a windproof jacket, and thermal underlayers.
Trekking Footwear
Wear well-broken-in trekking shoes with good ankle support and grip. New footwear on a 16 km mountain trail is a recipe for blisters.
Rain Gear
Weather in the Himalayas is unpredictable. Always carry a sturdy waterproof raincoat or poncho, especially if traveling between July and September.
Health and Medicine
Carry basic medicines for altitude sickness (Diamox), cold, body aches, and stomach issues. Consult a doctor before the trip if you have heart or respiratory conditions.
Documents
Carry printed copies of your Yatra registration permit and Aadhar card. Mobile networks are unreliable on the trek — digital copies alone are not sufficient.
Cash
ATMs are scarce and often run dry during peak season. Carry sufficient cash for pony operators, porters, local food, and emergencies along the trek.
